Risk Disclosure
Bitcoin self-custody gives you control, but it also gives you responsibility.
1. Self-Custody Responsibility
Ember is non-custodial. You are responsible for your recovery phrase, private keys, wallet backups, and transactions.
2. Loss of Recovery Phrase
If your recovery phrase is lost, stolen, or exposed, your Bitcoin may be permanently lost or stolen. Ember cannot recover your wallet.
3. Irreversible Transactions
Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed by Ember after broadcast. Always verify addresses, amounts, and fees before sending.
4. Public Blockchain
Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. Address reuse may reduce privacy.
5. Network Fees and Confirmation Times
Fees and confirmation times vary based on Bitcoin network conditions. Low fees may result in delayed confirmations.
6. Market Volatility
Bitcoin's price can be volatile. Ember does not provide investment advice and does not guarantee any particular outcome.
7. No Trading, Exchange, or Custody
Ember does not provide trading, exchange, brokerage, custody, staking, lending, or earning services.
8. Device Security
If your device is compromised, your wallet may be at risk. Use a device passcode, Face ID, app lock, and secure offline backups of your recovery phrase.
9. Third-Party Services
Blockchain backend or price data services may be unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate. Wallet synchronization depends on network connectivity and third-party infrastructure.
10. Final Notice
Use Ember only if you understand self-custody responsibilities. If you are unsure, review our FAQ or contact support before sending Bitcoin.
